Freedom Street involves connecting and building relationships with young people in and around the town area of St Helier, with the aim of supporting them and keeping them safe and informed.
Each Saturday night we give out bottles of water, carry an endless supply of Chupa Chups, administer first aid, and generally do what we can to ensure young people on the streets are safe and cared for. This may mean helping to contact parents, providing a word of encouragement, offering advice, ensuring someone can get home safely, or signposting to professional help and services. Every week is different and it is a privilege to be able to take God’s love out onto the streets in a very practical way.
We’ve also opened the Freedom Centre on a Saturday night to give young people a safe environment to meet, eat toast, play games and chat with each other and with our team. This work is really important to us and we’ve seen it make a difference in the lives of many young people. If you’d like to get involved in supporting this, please contact Sarah.
