CRY JERSEY Charity Walk
Sat 11 May, 2019
West Park Layby, Victoria Avenue, St Helier
This is CRY's main fundraiser of the year and the money raised is going to help very poor children in Laos.
CRY already support a school there, and also have projects teaching fish farming and mushroom growing which have been extremely successful and enabled poor families to have better diets and a source of income.
The money from the walk will go towards providing mosquito nets and also schools supplies, for children who couldnt otherwise afford to access education. It will make a life-changing difference to them.
There are 3 different distances to choose from on the walk, 21 miles for anyone wanting a serious challenge, 13 miles or the shorter 6 mile walk.
The 21 mile route starts along Victoria avenue turning off at Millbrook to head through the beautiful scenery of waterworks Valley, then on through the country lanes of St Lawrence, St Mary and St Ouen, before heading down toward St Ouens bay. Following the sea along the Five Mile road to Corbiere, then back via the railway walk & the seafront path back towards town.
The 13 mile route to Corbiere & back, or 6 miles to St Aubin and back, are designed so those not able to do the full 21 miles can also take part.
We want you to enjoy the walk, whichever distance you choose, and know that you are raising funds to change a child’s life.
All walks start and finish at the first layby on Victoria Avenue, St Helier.
Registration is £10 adult, £5 child. Adults will receive refreshments on route and a medal and certificate on completing the walk.
