Esther’s obedience to Mordecai and her willingness to remain connected to God in a hostile environment are what allow her to ultimately be used by God to save her people.

Esther was in a palace where advisors sought power for selfish gain, where people were quick to bend to the king’s whims. Esther’s story is not just a story about a young woman who became queen. It is part of the larger story of God’s faithfulness to His people—a story that continues today. Just as God worked through Esther, He is at work in our lives. Nothing just happens to happen. God is positioning each of us, preparing us, and calling us to be part of His kingdom story.
