As a Church, we love to gather together in sung worship and our musicians carry a lifestyle of worship into our meetings to lead the Church in lifting up Jesus’ name with enthusiasm and excellence. Our desire is that through worship, the church will experience God’s presence in a real and relational way.
Our musical expression tends to involve one of our worship leaders, a contemporary band and backing vocalists. The worship leader will choose songs through consultation with the worship pastor & preacher, and considered prayer.
Each member of the team commits to growing continually in their musical skill as well as rehearsing and playing on roughly two Fridays and two Sundays every month dependent on scheduling needs. Our Friday practices take place at Hautlieu from 7.00pm to 9.30pm and give us time to set up, practise and build team relationships. On Sundays, team members arrive at Hautlieu from 8.30am and wherever possible aim to stay after 12pm to help pack equipment away.
There are other services that take place occasionally which members of the worship team may be asked to be involved in if possible.
We delight in seeing worship leaders, musicians and singers added to the team and love to give opportunities for those with a heart and calling to worship to be a part of our worship expression at Freedom. If you’re interested in getting involved, our PDF, 'What to Expect' explains the qualification process for new musicians at Freedom Church. Once you've read the document, you can apply to join the team by completing this form.
