Tea and Coffee
Every Sunday after the service we serve tea and coffee in the canteen at Hautlieu as well as cake and biscuits from time to time. It’s an important part of what we do and helps people to feel at ease and to stay to talk and build relationships.
The only qualification required is a smile, some patience and a pair of hands that can hold a cup. It really is that easy and also a lot of fun! As part of the team you’ll be asked to help prepare and pour the tea and coffee and serve cakes and biscuits when available. The team also helps to clear up after people have left, making sure the place is clean and tidy both in the kitchen and the canteen.
Most people serve on a team once a month and, depending on the number of people to be served, we normally finish around 12.45–1pm. The team leader is in charge of the smooth running of the team. If you’d like to be involved, please contact Kirsty.
We also have a hospitality team who produce amazing results for special services and events throughout the year. This can range from serving tea and coffee at an evening church meeting to helping create and serve the host of cakes and treats we supply each year at the Island Walk.
Events can last for just a couple of hours or for longer periods of time. Those on the team can choose to help as much or as little as they wish but we’re sure you’ll value the sense of achievement and enjoyment in producing outstanding results working alongside a great team.
Full training will be offered as we aim to serve with excellence! We always make sure everyone knows what they need to do and no one is left in charge until they’re confident. If you’d like to be involved, please contact Di.
