Freedom Street runs on Saturday nights from 7.00pm ‘til late and occasionally at other times as needed. Our outside team goes out in all weather and visits lots of different places including the skate park, town parks, car parks… a lot of different parks! We often walk several miles and are on our feet for several hours so a reasonable level of fitness is needed.
We also have a team based in the Freedom Centre who provide refreshments for the young people, set up the games stations and spend time chatting to those who come in.
Most team members volunteer once a month. Alternatively, you could join our reserve team, and just come out occasionally when extra help is needed.
Volunteers must enjoy working with young people, have good interpersonal skills, be approachable, adaptable and understanding, with a good sense of humour. You will also need to complete a couple of hours of training, be First Aid qualified and complete a DBS check (all of which we can arrange for you).
