Freedom Church Youth and Kids

Welcome to Freedom Youth and Kids!

We have lots happening for children and young people, from tiny tots upwards.

On Sunday mornings, our Parents’ room is a great place for Mums and Dads with little ones to relax, enjoy the service, and connect with other young families. For older children, we’ve got a host of fun, games, activities and teaching, with Kids groups catering for toddlers, pre-schoolers, and the primary school years.

Recognising the differing needs of young people, on Sunday mornings we run two youth groups, which cater for younger youth preparing to start secondary school, and our older emerging teenagers. Our two Youth groups also meet mid-week for more fun, games, activities and teaching.

We’re also passionate about demonstrating God love to others in very practical ways! To find out more, please take a look at our Youth Outreach projects.

We want you and your children to feel at home at Freedom and to enjoy Church life. We have a great team of dedicated staff and volunteers who are passionate about seeing each child and young person develop to their full potential, growing in relationship with God and personal faith.

Freedom Youth

Freedom Youth runs on Sunday mornings at Hautlieu School, from 10.30am, when our young people join with main church for a time of worship, before going out to their different groups.

On the first Sunday of each month (term time only) all our young people meet together for Youth Church at our town premises in Victoria Street, where we have a dedicated Youth facility. We start with breakfast at 10.00am, followed by crazy (and sometimes messy!) games, worship and a talk time – it’s a great opportunity to build friendships and connect with God and each other.

Our Youth also meet together mid-week on Thursday nights at our Youth facility in town, from 6.30 to 8.30pm, for more fun, games, activities and teaching.

As well as our regular meetings, we organise lots of social events, such as movie nights, bowling, night treks, beach parties, sleepovers, scavenger hunts and football in the park. New ideas are always welcome!

Evolve is for those in school years 6 to 8. It’s a time of big change and we purposefully work to help our young people adapt and make sense of the sometimes seemingly crazy world around them, particularly as they move from primary to secondary school.

We want to support and journey along alongside our young people, as they grow and ‘evolve’ into all that God has purposed for them.

180 (one eighty)

In School Years 9 and above life continues to change and our young people are facing some huge decisions and choices! Our aim is to support our young people through these mega challenging years!

We also encourage our young people to discover the amazing and individual gifts that God has given them and we continue to encourage them to learn to know God for themselves and seek him in every area of their lives.

The Loft

‘The Loft’ is our weekly Youth drop-in, for those in School Years 9 up to age 18. Aimed at helping to meet the needs of young people in the town area, we run a youth club style event on Tuesday nights. We have all our usual activities (games zone, nail bar, pool tables, table tennis, tuck shop) and run regular activities, such as Pizza nights, FIFA matches, and ‘Open Mic’ sessions.

It’s an opportunity to build relationship with the young people in the community around us, demonstrating God’s love in a very practical way.

Freedom Street

Every Saturday night, our detached Youth work team, ‘Freedom Street’ meets with young people in and around the town area of St Helier.

We give out bottles of water and lollipops, administer First Aid, and generally do what we can to help to keep young people on the streets informed and safe.

Freedom Street is about serving our community, caring for and supporting the young people around us, and building relationships. It’s a privilege to know and serve these young people, and to be able to take God’s love out onto the streets.

Freedom Kids

Freedom Kids runs every Sunday morning at Freedom Church, meeting at Hautlieu School at 10.30am. Before coming into Freedom Kids, children join with main church for a time of worship.

Freedom Tots

(0 – 2 years)
Children coming along to Freedom Tots enjoy free playtime, a short story, music, song, and snack. We have lots of fun and parents are welcome to stay and join in!

Freedom Stars

(Age 3 to Reception)
In Freedom Stars our time starts with a small snack and then we enjoy Bible stories and activities such as colouring, sticking, songs, role-play and dance. We love bringing the bible alive and having fun together!

Freedom Champions

(School Years 1 to 5)
We want our children to have fun and flourish! In Freedom Champions we include games, drama, art, sport, music and dance in our activities. We base each session on scripture, looking at how we can live out God’s word in our lives.
